From the Beginning
Andy and Nicole met the summer before 8th grade at Buckhorn summer camp in Idyllwild, Ca. Nicole and her best friend Stacey were in Jen's G10 cabin. Each girl in her cabin had a crush on a boy in Andy's cabin. Late one night the girls decided to scream out the window of their cabin who they were in Love with. Nicole shouted, "I love Andy McEntee" in hopes that he would hear. At the conclusion of camp Andy got each and every girl's number in Jen's G10. But who did he call each and every day? Nicole! The conversations consisted of a lot of back and forth, "Who do you like?" "You tell me first, who do you like?" Unfortunately summer came to an end and it was time to go back to school. Because they attended different junior high schools, Nicole at First Avenue and Andy at Foothills, they stopped talking on the phone and went on with teenage life, still with little crushes in their hearts. Tenth grade came and it was time to attend Arcadia High School, together. Many boyfriends/girlfriends came and went and with no classes together, Andy and Nicole saw little of each other. Until...second semester of eleventh grade. They had a science class together and Nicole sat right in front of Andy. On Valentine's day Andy gave her a box of chocolate (re-gifted from his mother),and they started flirting, worked on science assignments together, and went to each other's sporting events. Prom was quite a ways away and Nicole was hoping to go with Andy, as Andy was planning on asking. Months before prom Nicole was asked by another boy, and since she wasn't asked to many dances and really wanted to go to Prom, she said yes. With Nicole taken, Andy decided to forgo Prom. That summer Andy and Nicole started dating and fell madly in love. After senior year they went to college together at Humboldt State University and had a very serious, loving relationship for three years. Andy and Nicole started having different interests as they were maturing into adults and their relationship ended with an emotional break up.
About 7 years later Nicole was going back to Humboldt for the first time since graduation for her friend Shoshanna's wedding. She frequented Andy's brother Jason's wine bar, Bodega, and had asked how Andy was doing. Jason offered the information that Andy and his long term girlfriend had broken up a few months back. Since Nicole and Andy hadn't spoken for about 6 years, Nicole asked Jason for his number since she would be going to Humboldt and Andy still lived there. Jason gave her Andy's number, and then called Andy to see if that was okay with him.
They went to dinner and continued sporadic communication over the next year. They met in San Francisco on Thanksgiving and decided to give this relationship a try as adults. They got tired of long distance when they decided some one would just have to move. Nicole didn't really want to go back to Humboldt but wasn't very happy in LA. Andy didn't really want to move to LA but was ready to move out of Humboldt. One day Andy suggested they move to Bangkok. With that, they both got jobs and moved across the world together. Their relationship grew with love and on June 5, 2009 Andy proposed at a cute little Northern California inspired restaurant in Bangkok. Nicole said yes and they are starting the beginning of their happily ever after.
