My cousin and her husband are in a law suit. Four years ago they were selling a house to the CSI producer and she backed out. Four years later a CSI show comes out using their names and characters that resemble them. Before airing the show changed their last name, but their names were being used for five months before that all over the internet. (even on TMZ.com here http://www.tmz.com/2009/05/22/csi-writer-accused-of-televised-revenge-plot/2#comments) Scott googled his name and his fictional character came up. Both their characters on the show are horrible people and of course this has the potential to harm business and personal life (if it hasn't already). I hope they win! Here's the story:
