We had a 6am flight to Udon Thani on Sat. but decided since Nok air was so cheap they would buy their tickets twice. We missed our first flight by about half an hour and instead of giving us any credit toward our next flight they made us pay full price to go at 1pm. And so we did. The good news was that we got to go to the weekend market with our 4 hours to spare which was a lot of fun. We made sure we got back to the airport in plenty of time and were bored so we took these pictures.

Our boarding Passes on Nok air were reciepts.

How we can tell our passports apart w/o opening them.

Nok air may be cheap, but look at the service they provide with the sun umbrellas! You can see what a short distance you have to walk from the plane to the terminal, still, everyone wants to be White.
Once we got to Udon Thani we started the tour with Raffi (Guy's friend who used to live in a village there)Guy, Karen, and Chris (Andy's Bosses). We first went to this village where this man was making pottery. Then we went to the nearby village where they paint it. We ended up buying the pot you see in the picture along with two other that were painted.

We then went to a museum where they had an actual archeological dig with skeletons and pottery. It was really cool!

This is all one tree. It was amazing how much area it covered.
We took a walk around the village and met some of Raffi's friends, including their crazy tiny puppies.

This was the comment card at our hotel. Thank goodness we didn't have to call our maid!
Then we went to the market and was some very interesting stuff. Look at these bags of chiles! Oh, and we found cilantro, something we have been looking for the last few months.

Raffi decided to go flying and it was something we had never seen before. He and his wife were a team getting him set up.

Raffi used to sell hand woven silk. So we got to go to his home and look at his collection worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. They were really beautiful.
