We have an appointment to look at a couple places tomorrow. We are hoping we like one of them because we are ready to move in NOW! So far we have looked at 4 places. Nicole loved one but it was only the first day of seeing so we decided to wait to see if there was one closer to the skytrain and in our preferred area. The next one was closer, and HUGE. 3 floors 4 bedroom 3 baths etc. etc. BUT it was old and ugly and across the street from a school. Nicole is at a school enough and doesn't want to come home to one. It was NOISY there! Turns out the house Nicole loved is now being sold on Sunday. After a few tears, (not by Andy) we are trying to have high hopes for the house viewing tomorrow. We are looking specifically for a house so Penny can join us, if we just were getting an apartment we could have one in a day like everyone else. Also, we haven't been open to living further away from the skytrain until now. The further we get away the cheaper and nicer they seem to be. We will just have to get used to taking a motorcycle taxi every day. SCAAAAARY, but the trips will be short and on side streets so it will be ok.
Nicole briefly met her staff and Andy and Nicole are meeting them for dinner tonight at Cabbages and Condoms. It is a Thai restaurant and proceeds go to educating about AIDS and safe sex. We've heard that instead of a mint at the end of dinner you get a condom. It's a good cause with a funny name.
Andy’s boss is getting him a really nice new computer and printer! Guy also got Andy a $500.00 phone that even makes coffee. AND he bought Nicole a phone too. Hers doesn’t make coffee and it wasn’t $500.00, but it does light up every minute with announcements in Thai, oh and automatically locks every second so to do anything she has to unlock her phone constantly. Despite these annoyances, she is very grateful and is hoping these technical difficulties will be fixed once she reads the directions on how to operate it.
This means that YOU can be the first to use the phone we bought when we arrived. Yes, that’s right, you can have your very own phone here, all you have to do is visit!
Has anyone seen Penelope? She is very missed on a daily basis. The soi dogs just aren’t cutting it for Nicole.

Good to hear from you again with the update. Good luck on the house (maybe we'll have a place to stay when we visit!). Hope those phones will reach the US - it would be great to hear from you!
Love, mom
Penny is playing with a water bottle, right next to me, as I type!! She just had her dinner, and will be ready for bed soon. I'll give her a kiss from you, Nic!
Love, "the other mom"
Penny is soooo lovable! Annabelle came to greet Starry. Star did night make a sound, but showed all of her teeth...I think she was smiling. ?? Hope you find a place soon!
Love, mom
You are homeless. Bryan is homeless. Penny LOOKS homeless. Please find a home. It's hard to brag about a sister who is homeless and living in Thailand. Wanna meet her dog? Oh, and this is our best friend, he's homeless also. What will the people think?
By the way, I am buying Penny a t-shirt that says "My mom moved to Thailand and all I got was this stupid t-shirt." It will help explain a lot.
It is so entertaining to read about your experiences in a different part of the world. I've been cracking up at all of the witty writing. It is better than a novel! I'm so glad you are settling and enjoying yourselves. I look forward to hearing more about it. Will you ever come back????
